Ogun State Govt Issues Flood Alert as Heavy Rainfall Looms

The Ogun State Government has issued a mid-term flood alert, urging residents in flood-prone areas to prepare for potential flooding between September and November 2025. The warning, announced on March 20, follows the Seasonal Rainfall Prediction (SRP) from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) and the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA).The state successfully managed the first phase of flooding from March to July through proactive measures, including clearing drainage channels, public awareness campaigns, and enforcing environmental regulations.
