My mother thought I wanted to be ‘babalawo’ after studying Yoruba – Dele Momodu

A key member of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, opposition coalition, Dele Momodu, on Saturday revealed why his late mother wondered if he wanted to be a “Babalawo” or witches and wizards from his father’s village were after him. Momodu disclosed his mother had those perceptions because he studied Yoruba in the university and could not get a job upon graduation. He made the revelation while recounting his sojourn with the late MKO Abiola and his deceased wife and pioneering female journalist, Doyinsola.
