The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has announced its full support for the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) in their ongoing dispute with Dangote Refinery, threatening to halt operations at the facility if the refinery’s management continues to block workers’ rights to unionize.In a statement issued on September 8, 2025, PENGASSAN’s General Secretary, Lumumba Okugbawa, condemned the refinery’s resistance to unionization as a violation of Nigerian labor laws and international conventions.
