DSS Petitions Elon Musk to Ban Sowore’s X Account Over Tweet Against Tinubu

The Department of State Services (DSS) has formally petitioned Elon Musk, Chairman and CEO of X Corp., to deactivate the verified X account of activist Omoyele Sowore, accusing him of posting content that threatens Nigeria’s national security and discredits President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.In a letter dated September 6, 2025, addressed to Musk at X Corp.’s headquarters in Bastrop County, Texas, the DSS cited a tweet by Sowore on August 25, 2025, which read: “This criminal @officialABAT actually went to Brazil to state that there is NO MORE corruption under his regime in Nigeria.
