Arewa Youth Movement Demands Police Probe into Politicians’ Alleged Links to Banditry

The Arewa Youth Movement (AYM) has submitted a petition to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), calling for a robust investigation into politicians allegedly involved in banditry and violent crimes across Northern Nigeria. The group emphasized that no public official, regardless of status, should be exempt from accountability.During a press briefing in Abuja on September 6, 2025, AYM spokesperson Comrade Yahaya Muhammed Garba highlighted the escalating insecurity in the region, attributing it partly to the complicity of high-ranking individuals who reportedly support criminal networks. (…)
