Osun, Lagos lead as 2.5m pre-register online for CVR

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says more than 2.5 million Nigerians have completed their online voter pre-registration within two weeks of commencing the continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise. The nationwide online pre-registration of voters began on August 18, 2025. Sam Olumekun, INEC’s national commissioner and chairman of the information and voter education committee, said in a statement on Tuesday that as of August 31, 2025, a total of 2,532,062 Nigerians had pre-registered online.
