Rivers’ state of emergency expires September 18 – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, on Saturday, expressed hope that the state of emergency in Rivers State will expire on September 18. Wike said that, with the expiration, the Rivers State Assembly is expected to resume its duties. He spoke after casting his vote in the ongoing local government election in Rivers State. President Bola Tinubu had declared emergency rule in Rivers State to prevent the outbreak of a political crisis.
