Anambra Couple Arrested for Staging Fake Kidnap to Extort ₦3 Million from Family

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended a 23-year-old woman, Nmesoma Nwoye, and her 24-year-old boyfriend, Chibuike Ogbu, for orchestrating a fake kidnapping to extort money from Nwoye’s family. The police recovered ₦1.2 million, part of the ransom paid by the family, following the suspects’ arrest.In a statement issued on Saturday by the command’s spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police revealed that intelligence-led operations exposed the couple’s scheme.
