Ondo Couple Arrested for Faking Wife’s Kidnap to Extort N10m from Relatives Abroad

The Ondo State Police Command has detained Mrs. Sanmori Taiwo, 42, and her husband, Pastor Sanmori Olubumi Joshua, 62, for allegedly orchestrating a fake kidnapping to extort N10 million from Taiwo’s relatives overseas.DSP Olushola Ayanlade, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 27. The incident took place on August 23 between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the couple’s home on Road 5, PowerLine, Ondo City.Ayanlade revealed that Taiwo hid in a separate room as part of the scheme, while her husband used her phone to contact her relatives, (…)
