Lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has stated that the Obidients, supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, may hinder Obi’s chances of ever becoming Nigeria’s president.In a post on his X handle on Sunday, August 24, 2025, Adeyanju criticized the group, alleging that their habit of insulting and threatening others contributed to Obi’s loss in the 2023 general elections. He argued that this approach continues to undermine Obi’s political prospects.
