Taraba Muslim Council Bans Wedding Parties in Jalingo

The Muslim Council of Taraba State has imposed a ban on all wedding parties in Jalingo, the state capital, following consultations with Islamic clerics, traditional rulers, and local authorities. The decision was announced during sermons at Jummat mosques across the city on Friday.The ban targets gatherings like “Kauyawa” and “Ajo” parties, which the council criticized for attracting large crowds of youths, often in tattered clothing, dancing late into the night.
