Doyin Kachikwu, a 2023 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has pledged to reinstate fuel subsidies if elected president in 2027. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on August 22, 2025, Kachikwu argued that removing the subsidy, as done by President Bola Tinubu in May 2023, has inflicted severe economic hardship on Nigerians, driving up living costs and inflation.“The subsidy removal was a mistake that has crippled the masses. If I become president, I’ll bring it back to stabilize fuel prices and ease the burden on ordinary Nigerians,” Kachikwu (…)
