NAPTIP Raids Human Trafficking Syndicate in Abuja, Arrests Eight, Rescues 29 Victims

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) arrested eight suspected members of a human trafficking syndicate operating between Nigeria and Ghana, rescuing 29 victims, mostly West African nationals, in a raid at a hideout in Gwagwalada, Abuja. The operation, prompted by intelligence from the Ghanaian Embassy, targeted a syndicate allegedly exploiting a Ghanaian victim recruited under false pretenses, defrauded of USD 3,500, and stripped of his passport and belongings.
