Officers filmed aiding politician with cash distribution in Kano under probe -Police

The Kano police command says disciplinary measures are being taken against officers caught on video aiding a politician in sharing cash. A viral video showed a red-capped politician in a flowing robe distributing cash to some youths, while five police officers helped organise them into a queue. In a statement on Tuesday, Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, the command’s spokesperson, said the incident took place on July 10 at the Coronation Hall of the Kano government house. The police spokesperson said the incident “had nothing to do” with the rerun and by-elections held in the state on August 16. (…)
