Kano Assembly Suspends Rano LG Chairman Over Misconduct Allegations

The Kano State House of Assembly has suspended Alhaji Muhammad Naziru Ya’u, Chairman of Rano Local Government Council, for three months following serious allegations of misconduct. The decision, made during a plenary session presided over by Speaker Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore, comes after a detailed investigation by the House Committee on Public Petition.The committee’s probe was initiated by a petition signed by nine of the ten councillors in Rano, accusing Ya’u of financial recklessness, unauthorized sale of shops, and diversion of fertiliser allocated to the local government.
