Gunmen Kidnap Nine Passengers in Daring Attack on Kogi Expressway

Panic gripped commuters along the Itobe–Anyingba Expressway in Kogi State as gunmen abducted nine passengers in a brazen attack on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The incident, which occurred around 4:20 p.m. near Ogbabo Junction, saw armed assailants emerge from the bush, open fire, and force a Peace Mass Transit bus to a screeching halt, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.The bus driver, Mr. Sunday Okechi, and six passengers narrowly escaped the ambush, but nine others were not as fortunate, being herded into the nearby bush by the attackers.
