Cross River to review Doctors' retirement age to 65

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River has said the state may review the retirement age of its doctors from 60 to 65 years to holistically reform the state’s health sector.Otu said this on Wednesday while addressing national officers of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, who were in Calabar for their July National Executive Council meeting.The governor said the proposed retirement age extension would not only help retain highly skilled clinicians in the system but would also allow for effective transfer of knowledge to younger professionals.According to him, this will strengthen the (…)
