Pastor Tunde Bakare clears air on agreement with Buhari to succeed him as president

The General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, CGCC, Pastor Tunde Bakare has clarified that there was no written agreement for ex-President Muhammadu Buhari to hand over power to him. Buhari was in office from 2015 to 2023. He took power as military head of state from 1983 to 1985. Speaking on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bakare hinted that Buhari would have preferred him as his successor.
