Davido, the Afrobeats star, has come under heavy criticism over an X post some users interpreted as “endorsing cultism”. On Monday, the singer wrote “Happy Metal” on X (formerly Twitter), a phrase that many linked to the Neo-Black Movement (NBM), also known as the Black Axe confraternity, which celebrates its founding anniversary on July 7.
