Nigeria Puts 19-Year-Old Presidential Jet Up for Sale

The Federal Government has announced the sale of its nearly two-decade-old Boeing 737-700 Business Jet (BBJ), which has been in service for over 19 years. The aircraft, acquired for $43m in 2005, has become increasingly expensive to maintain and has been subject to safety scrutiny.According to sources within the Presidency, the decision to sell the jet follows a mechanical incident during an official trip to Saudi Arabia in April 2024.
