Sokoto government unveils N14bn water scheme

Governor Ahmed Aliyu, on Wednesday, commissioned the newly completed Tamaje Water Scheme, one of six major water infrastructure projects valued at over ₦14.1 billion.Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in Tamaje, Aliyu described the project as a “critical milestone” in addressing the growing demand for potable water in the state capital and its environs, especially in light of the city’s rapid urban expansion.“Access to clean and potable water is not just a basic necessity; it is a fundamental human right,” Aliyu declared.He emphasised the administration’s commitment to sustainable (…)
