Kwara government mandates drug test for drivers

The Kwara State Government has announced that drivers caught over-speeding in the state will now be issued tickets and required to undergo mandatory drug tests.The test is to confirm they are not under the influence of drugs or other illicit substances.This was disclosed on Thursday during a road walk to mark the 2025 United Nations Day Against Drug Abuse and Other Illicit Substances.Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who was represented by the Commissioner for Social Development, Mariam Iman, said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to combat the dangers of drug abuse in (…)
