Governor Josh Stein of North Carolina has officially declared June 14, 2025, as “Igbo Day” in recognition of the contributions and cultural heritage of the Igbo community in the state. The proclamation, which was signed by Governor Stein, acknowledged the Igbo people as an integral part of North Carolina’s social, economic and cultural landscape. The governor noted that Igbos have made significant impacts across various sectors, including education, law, medicine, information technology, entrepreneurship and the arts.
