Mokwa floods: Over 700 still missing – Niger govt

Niger State Government has revealed that more than 700 people remain missing after a recent flood disaster in Mokwa town, headquarters of Mokwa Local Government Area. Governor Umaru Bago, represented by Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba, disclosed this on Tuesday in Minna while receiving a condolence delegation led by Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, a former Chief Security Officer to the late Gen. Sani Abacha. According to the government, 207 deaths have so far been confirmed, with over 3,000 households displaced.
