The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has elected Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s minister of communications, innovation, and digital economy, as vice‑chair of the ITU Council 2025. Tijani announced his election in a statement on Tuesday. The ITU is the United Nations specialised agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs). It was established to promote international cooperation in telecommunications and strives to connect all people worldwide.
