Ekiti Community calls for Return of Bank Services after 11 Years Closure

Residents of Okemesi-Ekiti, headquarters of Okemesi/Ido-Ile Local Council Development Area, LCDA, in Ekiti State, have called for the reinstatement of banking services in the town, more than a decade after a violent robbery incident led to the closure of the community’s only bank branch.The 2013 robbery, which claimed two lives and left several others injured, prompted the permanent shutdown of the facility, leaving the town without direct access to banking services ever since.At the third Socio-Economic Summit and investiture ceremony of new executives for the 2025-2027 term, members of (…)
