Kano declares 12-day school holiday ahead of Eid-el-Kabir

Kano has declared June 4 to 16 as Eid-el-Kabir holiday for all primary and secondary schools in the state. Ali Makoda, the Kano commissioner for education, issued a statement on Sunday, signed by Balarabe Kiru, the ministry’s public enlightenment director. Makoda said the break does not alter any aspect of the 2024/2025 academic calendar, including official holidays. He noted that students in boarding school will observe the break until June 15, while day students are expected to return on June 16.
